Spartans Dominate at Risk the World!

With more than 200 players in attendance, the first installment of Paintball World TV News' scenario game series went off without a hitch at the outstanding Bear Claw Paintball facility in Fayetteville, Tennessee. With high humidity and temperatures in the nineties both Saturday and Sunday, along with four seperate teams on the field battling for control of numerous strong points and territories, both the weather and the competition were hot.

With four teams on the field rather than the usual two, alliances were the name of the game, with players roving the field constantly keeping track of which teams to shoot at and which teams to assist. Teams included the Spartans, the Mongols, the French and the Americans, each led by a great conqueror from their history such as General George S. Patton, Ghengis Khan, Napoleon Bonaparte and Leonidas.

Promoted by Phil, Norie and PJ Kelly of the successful Paintball World TV News television show and produced by Ben and Bonnie Torricelli of MPP Games, Risk the World was hosted by Bear Claw Paintball, a lavish combination of rolling, wooded terrain, forts, large, open trails, one and two story buildings and countless bunkers. High pressure and CO2 fills were expertly handled, as were registration, paint sales and catering, allowing the players to focus on enjoying southern hospitality and paintball camaraderie.

Play on the large field ebbed and flowed, with teams making, breaking and repairing alliances while pushes surged back and forth. Numerous times throughout the days of play, the Mongol base was attacked, destroyed and rebuilt, pushing the Mongols back into their corner and forcing their players to reinsert directly into heated shootouts, preventing the newly dubbed "Mongrels" from completing missions. By the end of the day it was the Spartans that had left their stamp on the field, finishing out in front, ahead of the Americans, French and Mongols.

With competitive, exciting and intense paintball on the field and a friendly, enjoyable and comfortably atmosphere off the field, Risk the World, by Paintball World TV News and MPP Games, was a great success.
